Born on Oct. 28 1935 in Tottenham, North London, Bill was a sports fan through and through. Attending Latymer he was able to rub elbows with a more than a few famous names. Playing for Spurs the story goes that they wanted to sign him but his mother refused because, ‘Footballers are ignorant’. Bill Immigrated to Canada and was married in 1962. He enjoyed a wonderful career in management and the running of furniture facturies for Ikea and many other well known companies. With his son enjoyed coaching football or soccer as he had to call it. These teams won multiple championships and some of the players he coached went on to play in professionally. He also became a huge baseball fan, enjoying the statistics and all the detail that goes into playing the game, traveling to coopers town to see the hall of fame was a dream come true. Bill returned to the country of his birth in 1989. He soon found himself working again and joining the post office. He loved working at the post office and his friends there were never far from his thoughts. He enjoyed playing cricket and football with his post office family. It was through these friends that his love for local football was founded and why Poole Town will always be part of his life. After having to retire from the post office, Bill found himself a job at Sainsburys, pushing trollies and then he moved on to working on a Till, he was afraid that he would nto get the hang of it, but was soon able to pick it up. As you can see Bill was never known for his dress sense, in fact he was the only person I know to ever wear shorts to watch an ice hockey game. He could often be seen walking around in his shorts, seemingly regardless of how cold it might be. Bill is survived by his son William (Guill) Grace.
